About this build
Name
The official name of this project is Library of the Citadel. It is a distinct project from Atom-KB's separate Library: the two hold different content in different stores, and this build neither mirrors, syncs, nor supersedes Atom-KB's. A link between them, if one is ever configured, is a pointer and not a source-of-truth relationship.
Content status
This deployment contains 28 records in World Recipes: 17 sourced, 8 original practical notes, and 3 fixture. Contains twenty-eight records of three kinds. Seventeen are sourced: thirteen beginner oven recipes and four small-batch beginner desserts, each citing the page its quantities, temperatures and timings come from, plus the food-safety authority behind any temperature threshold it states; they are editorially checked against those sources but untested in any kitchen here and not publication-ready. Eight are original practical notes in the Quick Air-Fryer section, written here rather than retrieved: they carry no sources because they make no claim about any published recipe, and where one gives a cook-to temperature it hands the reader back to their own food-safety authority. Three are illustrative fixture records, seeded so the hall, gallery, search, region filter and detail views can be built and checked end to end. No record carries an image, an authenticity claim, or a cooking-test result. A sourced record requires record_class 'sourced', at least one identified source URL, and a rights review; a practical note requires record_class 'practical-note' and no sources at all. The content rules in src/rules.mjs enforce both gates.
Beside it stands Stories, a separate shelf of original fiction holding 7 published works. A story is not a knowledge record: it makes no factual claim, so it is neither sourced, reviewed, nor testable, and it is published as its author's own text rather than as knowledge. Holds seven published stories. A work on this shelf is fiction: it makes no factual, historical, or doctrinal claim, it cites nothing because it summarizes nothing, and it is published as its named author's own text with rights reserved. Each work is shown in the language or languages its author wrote it in, with English metadata that says which those are. Nothing on this shelf is machine-translated, and nothing is promised for it.
The third room is Agent Nursery, a project whose long-term goal is to build an institution of the same name; that institution has not been established and is not operating. The collection holds 1 published handbook. A handbook is held here as its authors' own manuscript, one file per language, checksummed on every build so the published text cannot drift from the record describing it. A living document, revised from experience. Version 0.1 records a present understanding; a later edition may expand, change, or withdraw it, and will say what changed and why.
What a sourced record is
- It names the page its quantities, oven temperature and timings come from, with the date that page was read, and it cites the food-safety authority behind any temperature threshold it states.
- Its directions are written here in this project's own words. No source text or photograph is reproduced, and rights in the cited page stay with its author and publisher.
- It has been checked against its source, but it has not been cooked or tested here and it has had no professional food-safety review. Where a source gave only a vague endpoint, an attributed temperature threshold is given beside it.
What an original practical note is
- It is everyday cooking written here for this repository — not summarized from anyone else's page, and not a demonstration record either. Where it gives a temperature to cook to, it hands the reader back to the food-safety authority published where they live, because the record names none of its own.
- It carries no sources, and that is the honest state rather than a gap: it makes no claim about any published recipe, so there is nothing to cite. A note that ever acquires real sources is promoted to a sourced record instead of being annotated after the fact.
- It has not been cooked in a test kitchen here, it has had no professional food-safety review, and it is not publication-ready. Its times and temperatures are starting points for your own appliance, not verified results.
What a fixture record is not
- It is not researched, and it carries no source URLs. The source list is empty rather than filled with a placeholder.
- It makes no claim about the history, origin, authenticity, or regional ownership of any dish.
- It has not been cooked or tested, and no outcome is reported.
- It contains no images, and its image-rights review state says so explicitly.
- Region and cuisine labels on fixture records exist to exercise the filter interface. Their
label_basisfield records that they are illustrative. - Its translations are the same fixture text in another language. Translating a fixture does not research it, source it, test it, or review it.
Languages
This build is generated once per interface language. English is the documented default and is served from the site root; every other language is served from its own route prefix, so a deep link carries its language with it and the page declares that language in its lang attribute.
The switch in the header stores the chosen language in localStorage under the key library-of-the-citadel.locale. Storage can be unavailable — private browsing, a sandboxed document, a user setting — and in that case the switch still works for the current visit and simply does not persist. Nothing else is stored, and no account, cookie, or server is involved.
Interface text is translated in full for every supported language. Record text is translated per record: a record with no translation for the selected language is shown in its original English behind a visible notice, rather than as blank fields or raw keys.
Deployment configuration
- Base path
/library-of-the-citadel/- Interface languages
- English (English, /library-of-the-citadel/); 中文 (Chinese (Simplified), /library-of-the-citadel/zh/)
- Citadel link
- not configured — the header slot renders inert
- Backend
- none; the deployed site is static files only
- External requests
- none; no fonts, images, analytics, or third-party scripts are fetched
The base path and the Citadel link are set in config/site.config.json, and either can be overridden by environment variable at build time. No repository name or host is compiled into the source.
